Deck Project
Anyone for Cocktails & Good Company on the Patio?
October.
In case you haven't heard, we've embarked on a fund-raising mission to build a deck on the front of the Club. The deck will be a great way of advertising when the club is open and help draw new customers, and it will also provide outside seating to enjoy the beautiful weather. The goal is to raise $5,000 to build the deck by "selling boards".
A $20.00 donation is all that's required and a plaque will be engraved containig the names of all those who helped make this dream a reality. The enclosed engraving form should be filled out with the name of the person making the donation or the name of the person the board was purchased for, i.e. many boards have been purchased in memory of a loved one who has passed away.
In just a few months we've raised $1,460 toward the building of the deck but we still have a ways to go before we can break ground. If you'd like to make a donation simply fill out the form and drop it in the mail, or drop it off at the club or feel free to give T Gunelius a call and she'll pick it up.
November.
Thanks to a generous donation from one of our members, the total amount raised for the deck fundraiser is $5,325! We will continue to accept donations above and beyond the goal to pay for furniture and other accessories. You may have seen the flags in front of the legion which were placed by various utility companies in preparation for the ground-breaking. Please call or contact the Post for a donation form if you wish to contribute to the deck fund.
February.
Ground breaking will be as soon as possible, weather permitting. The current plan is to open and dedicate the deck on Memorial Day. There is still plenty of time to make a donation and buy a board and be a part of the project.
