Happy New Year to the entire legion family!  You may have heard that we've revived the old fashion hand-breaded Friday night fish dinners, the first go-around went very well with 140 mouths fed.  Thanks to the dedicated crew who made it all happen!  Planning for Memorial Day festivities has already begun so if you'd like to lend a hand, just show up at the next committee meeting on February 10th at 6 PM.  Our next legion meeting will be held on February 17th so please mark your calendar and bring along a friend! We're sad to report the recent loss of two of our comrades.  Please keep the friends and families of Louis Kemm and Alan Defore in your thoughts and prayers.

I hope everyone had a good holiday season and stayed some what warm. Lent is coming up and we will be serving fish fries every Friday night throughout Lent. We will need help from Legion Volunteers on the nights labeled “LEGION”. We also need HELP on the other Fridays before Lent. Come down and support your Legion by helping out or just being here! Memorial Day is right around the corner, we will be having a Memorial Day meeting on February 9th at 6:00 at the Legion to start the process of getting the parade together. If you would like to help out or have suggestions come down and help or be heard. If you are interested in receiving the Buck Passer via email in conjunction with it being mailed OR instead of it being mailed please send an email at albayport@qwestoffice.net and label it “Buck Passer” and let me know your preference. If I don’t receive an email you will still get the Buck Passer via mail. We STILL need a new Service Officer.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and remember let’s get our membership in for the new year and start the year out right. I would like to thank all those who have paid up for 2009, God Bless each and everyone of you. Membership is currently at 327 which equates to 91% of our total eligible members!

We will be having deep fried Chicken in February and Corned Beef and Cabbage in March. We need everyone to purchase dinner tickets by the Saturday BEFORE the meeting so we have a good head count.
